Primal Hunt Academy

To hunt is to not only be connected to the food we eat but it is to become an embodied participant in the life cycle and immerse ourselves in an ecosystem.  Nothing else puts us in contact with nature, our own primal essence, and the wild as much as hunting. Nothing.

In our Primal Hunt Academies, we spot and stalk black bear in the Eastern Sierra. 

You will learn the following skills:
  • Develop tracking skills and wilderness awareness
  • Methods for stalking bear
  • Build awareness of your surroundings
  • Develop a healthy relationship with death
  • Build confidence
  • Connect to your primal presence
  • Learn how to process game

Fly Fishing Academy

Our Fly Fishing Academy combines fly fishing instruction with an embodied connection to the rivers and life within them.

You will learn the following skills:
  • Develop deep alluvial and wilderness awareness
  • Develop a healthy relationship with death
  • Build confidence
  • Understand river ecology
  • Practice sustainable and sacred fishing practices
  • Connect to your primal presence
  • Learn to fly fish
  • Learn to match the hatch
  • Learn how to filet and cook fish
